Hello! I'm Ellen Upp, owner and knitter in residence at The Fifth Stitch. We've been in business for over thirty years now and we know yarn.

Summer is finally here! Warm weather and knitting on the deck means not as much time for staying around the shop. Our summer hours are: Monday from 1:00 to 5:00 and 6:30 to 9:00. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday we're open from 10:00 to 1:00. On Wednesday and Friday we're open from 10:00 to 5:00. Come, visit and enjoy the cool of the yarn shop in the heat of summer.

Don't forget our Monday night sock group. Every Monday night from 6:30 to 9:00 we gather around the big table in the back of the store to knit and swap stories. If you can't join us in person, click on the Fifth Stitch Sockers link on the left to see how you can knit with us online. We have members from all over the United States. If you can't make it to Defiance, Ohio, you may find someone in our group close to you. Either way, join us online and we'll be your virtual knitting group.
